Below are a collection of videos that discusses scar revision techniques. Among these techniques include our preferred approach for scars using a geometric line closure to hide scars better. Although the geometric line closure appears to create a more haphazard scar and what appears to be a worsening of the scar, in actuality it helps the straight line scar to hide because it creates a randomness that allows the scar to hide within the rest of the face or part of the body that it resides. Once the Geometric line closure is healed you can then do resurfacing techniques using lasers or dermasanding techniques as early as 4 weeks after the procedure to further hide the scar and blend it into the natural surroundings.
Dr Young has performed scar revision for over 17 years. Here he discusses and shows the removal of a Large Beard, Jawline, Lower Face, and Cheek Keloid. A live surgical demonstration is shown along with more before and after images of the end result and the process of healing
Seattle's Dr. Philip Young took over 15 years to develop his New & Innovative Technique that treats all types of acne scars through a 5-7 step process that is done in about 2 hours. You should get significant results from just one treatment. The results should be a permanent lasting result. No temporary methods are done like fillers, etc. We are getting great results for people just like you!
The acne scar vitalizer procedure is a new and unique method that treats the acne scars from multiple levels. This 5-7 step process that is done in about 2 hours can treat ice pick scars, boxcar scars, elevated scars, rolling scars, and other elements related to the acne scar disease process.

Dr Philip Young of Seattle | Bellevue Describes the use of scar revision techniques to help this person who was bit by a dog. The story Goes that the patient opened up the back of a pickup truck and a very large dog clamped on to her face. This is a patient that we previously did a face lift for who, hence, had a lot of trust in our skills.
This patient had a geometric line closure to hide the straight line scar that was also contracting and creasing whenever she smiled. After the geometric line closure we performed a laser resurfacing with dermabrasion dermasanding approach to further hide her scar.

Another way to improve scars is through the use of chemical peeling. Ice pick scars and boxcar scars can respond quite well to 80% to 100% trichloroacetic acid peels. This approach causes the scars to become injured so that when they heal they build up to the level of the rest of the skin.
The results are that the depression becomes elevated and hopefully closer to the rest of the level of your surrounding area. Other ways to do the same type of approach is through the use of co2 laser resurfacing by using this modality in a special manner. We often approach this through our New and Unique approach to acne scarring called the Acne Scar Vitalizer Treatment.
Sometimes direct excisional techniques can help especially if there are scars that are conglomerated in a way that a pattern can be formed through excision techniques. This haphazard arrangement of the scars in itself can create a geometric closure pattern that can hide the scars better.
Scars that occupy a large portion of the face such as in the setting of acne scarring can present challenges when considering excisional techniques. Using excisional techniques in such large areas can be an unattractive approach. It is in this setting that the Acne Scar Vitalizer may be a better option.
